Sean McDermott living in Long Beach, California, is a new-generation music
composer with a rich classic style. He is a master of the art of choral arrangements and
accomplished in full orchestra
productions. Sean studied composition with the late Hal Johnson of Beverly
Hills and has written music for cable television and Time-Warner
productions. Sean is also an active studio
singer with a list of film credits including Intersection, Oscar
& Lucinda, House on Haunted Hill, Rock Star, Behind
Enemy Lines, The Scorpion King, The Matrix, Reloaded,
Matrix Revolutions, and Peter Pan.
Sean's neo-Renaissance compositions of sacred music for
the Divine Office and the Mass are simply awesome and have been
described as angelic music from the celestial courts of heaven.
His arrangements have been heard in monasteries and abbeys around the
world including Italy, Austria, Germany, Australia and the United States.
Some compare his musical style to that of Ralph Vaughn Williams and
Maurice Durufle. Others equate the power of his string arrangements to
the film music of James Horner. His choral arrangements whether with
orchestra, keyboard or standing alone have a moving spiritual depth delivering serenity and
beauty in an uncommon classical style. The impact of his music leaves one with the desire to hear more.
Below is a sample of Sean's
compositions. Sean McDermott has developed a number of musical
arrangements specifically for Catholic Radio
Dramas.com productions including our new release rosary CD "Revisit the
Most Holy Rosary." With his permission, Sean's music is used extensively
throughout this website in our on-line
presentations of "The Lives of the Saints."
We extend Sean our deep gratitude for enhancing our presentations on the internet and
for his outstanding contributions to the world of sacred music.
